About Me

I help people struggling to manage their weight build sustainable habits that align with their goals so that they can live a healthier and happier life

I think it’s a shame that many people feel confused by all the conflicting health advice in today’s society and find themselves stuck in an environment that makes healthy choices difficult.

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to maximise their health, and that the world is a better place when we understand how best to take care of ourselves.

NHS Catering

May 2003 - August 2005

My first foray into the world of food and health started by serving meals to hospital patients. It was here I learnt about the importance of good nutrition to aid recovery from illness. Professional Registration & Training

HCPC Registration

'Dietitian' is a protected title. Only those registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) may use the title. To remain on the register, dietitians must show evidence of continued learning throughout their careers. The HCPC regulate many allied health professionals, ensuring they meet minimum standards of conduct, performance and ethics.

BDA Member

I am a full member of The British Dietetic Association (BDA). The BDA is the only body in the UK representing the whole of the dietetic workforce. They are a trade union and professional body representing the professional, educational, public and workplace interests of its members. Founded in 1936, they are one of the oldest and most experienced dietetic organisations in the world.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) uses a guiding style to engage clients, clarify their strengths and aspirations, evoke their own motivations for change and promote autonomy in decision making. Clinical trials have shown that patients exposed to MI (versus treatment as usual) are more likely to enter, stay in and complete treatment, participate in follow-up visits, lose weight and keep it off.

X-Pert Educator

X-Pert Educators are trained to help people explore how their body works and how lifestyle modifications may help them improve their health. The aim is not to tell you what you should and shouldn’t do, but to help and support you in setting realistic goals to address concerns that you may have with your lifestyle such as what you eat and how active you are. Educators support people to set goals, dispelling dietary myths allowing increased dietary freedom, healthier eating, increase food awareness, improved wellbeing and quality of life, weight loss if appropriate, reduced risk of disease and other long-term condition.

Bridges Supported Self Management

Bridges is underpinned by the principles of social cognitive theory and the concept of self-efficacy. It helps people challenge and re-position the notion of self-management as an individual action, through developing a culture that is based on the quality of the interaction between a patient and practitioner.
